Job Description
We are seeking an experienced female support worker to chaperone, provide care and companionship for a friendly adult lady living with autism and complex learning disabilities. This is a rewarding; long-term role focused on developing her confidence and independence.
Responsibilities
- Supporting and accompanying her on community activities and outings (e.g. shopping, coffee shops, cafés, walks, day centres)
- Encouraging participation in new experiences and gradually expanding her social circle
- Providing reassurance and emotional support, especially when she feels anxious in unfamiliar or busy environments
- Supporting with personal care, including toilet hygiene when required
About Employer
The lady is a currently most comfortable with shorter trips out, but with your support she can gradually build confidence to enjoy a wider range of activities and longer outings. Building trust, providing calm reassurance, and introducing new experiences gently will be key to succeed in this role.
Candidate Requirements
- Female support worker with experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, or complex needs
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable
- Comfortable providing personal care when required
- Driving licence with access to a vehicle (essential)
